Save High Falls Lake

Save High Falls Lake” is the battle cry of a community-driven effort to spread awareness and information about threats to the lake and its ecosystem.

Unfortunately, the lake has been facing numerous challenges for the past two decades due to decisions made by county officials that affect the quality of life of the residential communities on the lake as well as the lake’s ecosystem at the heart of the Towaliga watershed. The SHFL community is actively working to protect the lake and its surrounding neighborhoods from any further harm. The widespread support for our mission is made evident by the numerous yard signs throughout our community, numerous festival sandwich boards and displays, sign covered pontoon boat Christmas parade float, business window displays and as well as car windows. The initiative has gained momentum over the last six months and has partnered with the High Falls Towaliga Watershed Alliance to help the cause.

We need your help.

You can make the difference,

Volunteer your time and join this ongoing fight.

Dedicated people regularly attend County Commissioner meetings, Industrial Development Authority meetings, write letters, visit elected officials, write songs, design t-shirts, promote our petition (https://www.change.org/p/sign-the-petition-to-safeguard-high-falls-state-park-lake), post on our facebook page ( https://www.facebook.com/groups/281226871294385 ), etc.

Get involved by joining our Save High Falls Facebook group and the High Falls Towaliga Watershed Alliance. Your support demonstrates to decision makers that you care about our community.

This is a commitment that has been made by people throughout the years. If we don't stand up for what is right and protect our natural resources now, they will not be here for future generations to come.
